Who we are
SML.SA is a public limited company with a Board of Direction.
It was created in April 2000, in accordance with the provisions of the Nigerian Mining Code.
The SML.SA Processing Plant was inaugurated on 05 October 2004 by the President of the Republic, His Excellency Mamadou TANDJA with the production of the first gold ingot. Its capital was owned by the State of Niger 20% and the AGMDC 80%. AGMDC is 50% owned by SEMAFO and 50% by Etruscan.
Following the acquisition by SEMAFO of Etruscan shares in AGMDC, AGMDC became a wholly-owned subsidiary of SEMAFO.
On 2 December 2013 SOPAMIN.SA (Niger Mines Heritage Society) bought the shares of SEMAFO and became a 100% Nigerian subsidiary. Its capital was held by the State of Niger 20% and SOPAMIN 80% of the shares.
On June 30, 2016 A Group International bought the 75% stake in SOPAMIN. The capital of SML.SA is currently held by A Group International at 75%, the State of Niger at 20% and SOPAMIN.SA at 5% of the shares.
