On January 29, 2016, in addition to its two former research permits Saoura and Tiawa, SML acquired three new permits: Boulkagou, Déba and Tialkam, which are contiguous to the former permits and located in the same geological context dominated by volcano rocks sedimentary belt of the Sirba belt. Birimian greenstones are known to be the host rocks for many of the economic gold mineralizations of West Africa.
The mining and research agreements were signed in March 2017 with the State of Niger. To date, SML holds five research permits: Boulkagou, Déba, Saoura Tialkam and Tiawa totaling 1,472.68 km² and two (2) operating permits: Samira-Libiri and Boulon Djounga for a cumulative area of 21.7 Km².
