Ore Processing Plant
The processing plant at the Samira Hill Mine has the capacity to process approximately 1.5 million tonnes of ore per year. It is of type "CIL" Carbon In Leach (Activated Coal Leaching)

Overview of the Samira Factory
Diesel power station with 6 CAT generators of 1 MW each
Water pumping station on the Sirba River supplying the dam
Water Retention Dam: 4 million m3 capacity feeding the treatment plant
I. Crushing: SINGLE TOGGLE JAW CRUSHER
Granulometric reduction by fragmentation of the ore all before grinding.
II. Crushing: wet-cycle ball mill in a closed circuit with a battery of cyclones
Release of the gold from its gangue for preparation for leaching.
Granulometric classification of the pulp leaving the mill by hydrocyclones to feed the leaching reactors.
IV. Leaching and adsorption
Leaching by cyanidation in oxygenated and alkaline medium of gold in the presence of activated carbon as adsorbent (CIL).
Elimination of metallic impurities (non-noble metals)
Desorption of gold from activated carbon
Deposit of gold on steel wool cathodes
Fusion of calcined steel wool
IX. Finished products: gold bars
Finished products: gold bars
Regeneration of activated carbon to remove organic matter
